Is a blu ray burner hardware or software?

Question: I have blu ray burning software but do I need to buy special burning equipment to burn a blu ray movie?

Just like a CD burner can’t burn a DVD.  Blu Ray burning software is only one piece of the puzzle, you need the hardware to go along with it.  The best Blu Ray Burners are from Plexor and LaCie. At least they are the best in terms of overall user experience.
