Blu Ray blank disc and burning movies?
I am looking into buying an external Blu Ray burner, as they are only about $200 now! Yes, they are very slow, but I like the idea of 25 gigabyte singles, and 50 gigabyte dual layers. My question is, on a single Blu Ray blank, would I be able to burn “regular-sized” .avi movies (700 mb or 1.4 gigabytes), and effectively put 10 plus movies on one disc? I wnat to play it on a Blu Ray player, not on the computer. Any information would be helpful!
To play on most players, I believe, you must author a BluRay disc using something like Adobe Encore. It’s very similar to creating a DVD that can play in a player. Which means transcoding the .avi files into mpeg and then using the authoring program to create a playable BluRay disc or disc image.
That said, however, there might be a player that can browse a BluRay data disc, one that has a regular FAT32 file system with the .avi files, just like browsing a flash drive.
Hope this helps!
